After 4 yrs of studies and hard work my first collection is finally read to face the world!
Here are some behind the scene pictures from the photoshoot of the portfolio pictures and talk about some of my inspirations. Have a look! xx
I love a statement piece but I never feel comfortable in anything flashy or too bright, so by bringing together some of my favourite materials - silver, chains, pearls, I designed these chokers. The bottom right is my first Choker- a delicate homage to the Elisabethan period's pearl neck adornments but with a sturdy collar to make you feel like a modern Joan of Arc.
Modeled by my gorgeous friend Lali, this is an early picture from my study days back in London in 2016.
My second choker is the Cluster Choker and my signature piece for the Cluster collection SS18.
Inspired by my favourite Swedish Jewellery designer Vivianne Torun Bülow-Hübe neck pieces, and with the idea of linking the wearer and jewellery, clusters represents a close connection of similar group to each other. The Oxford dictionary puts it - cluster - a group of similar things or people positioned or occurring closely together.
MAL Choker is my tribute to suprematism and geometric abstract art - my father being a geometric suprematist art painter the connection is clear.
This light and wearable Sterling Silver Choker has a Black Diamond and mini fresh water Pearl in a off-white colour.
